Plean Teanga
2018-2025
An Próiseas Pleanála Teanga
Tugann Acht na Gaeltachta (2012) feidhm reachtúil don phróiseas pleanála teanga faoina mbeidh pleananna teanga á n-ullmhú ag leibhéal an phobail i 26 Limistéar Pleanála Teanga (LPT) ar fud na Gaeltachta. In 2015 cheap Údarás na Gaeltachta Comharchumann Dhúiche Sheoigheach Teo. (CDS Teo.) mar cheanneagraíocht le plean teanga a ullmhú do LPT Dhúiche Sheoigheach agus Thuar Mhic Éadaigh. Is éard atá sa phlean ná léamh ar iompar na Gaeilge i nDúiche Sheoigheach agus Tuar Mhic Éadaigh mar aon le moltaí praiticiúla a chabhróidh le pobal an LPT an Ghaeilge a choinneáil beo agus cur leis an líon daoine a bhaineann úsáid as an nGaeilge mar theanga chumarsáide rialta. I mí Bealtaine 2020 ceapadh Oifigeach Pleanála Teanga, Stiofán Seoighe, a bheas ag comhoibriú leis an gCoiste Pleanála Teanga agus leis an bpobal chun an plean a chur i bhfeidhm.
Tá Coiste Pleanála Teanga an limistéir faoi chomaoin ag gach duine a bhí páirteach in ullmhú ár bplean teanga. Tá buíochas ag dul don phobal a thug tuairimí agus moltaí, a ghlac páirt i gcruinnithe, grúpaí fócais agus taighde. Tá buíochas ag dul do bhaill an Choiste agus na bhFochoistí Pleanála Teanga a dhéanann ionadaíocht ar phobail éagsúla an limistéir agus a d’oibrigh go dícheallach agus go coinsiasúil i bhforbairt ár phlean teanga.
Acht na Gaeltachta (2012) gives statutory function to the language planning process through which communities in 26 Language Planning Areas (LPT) throughout the Gaeltacht are to prepare language plans. In 2015 Údarás na Gaeltachta appointed CDS Teo. as the lead-organisation to prepare the language plan for the Dúiche Sheoigheach and Tuar Mhic Éadaigh LPT. The plans contains research on the current situation of an Ghaeilge in the LPT as well as practical recommendations to help the community protect an Ghaeilge as a living language and to add to the number of people who speak it regularly. In May 2020 a Language Planning Officer, Stiofán Seoighe, was appointed and he will be cooperating with the Language Planning Committee and the community to implement the plan.
The Language Planning Committee are indebted to all involved in the preparation of our language plan. We thank the community itself who gave their opinions and recommendations and who participated in meetings, focus groups and research. Thanks also to the members of the Language Planning Committee and Subcommittees who represent the various communities in the area and who worked tirelessly and diligently in the development of our language plan.

Is leis an bpobal an Ghaeilge agus is leis an bpobal an plean teanga. Tá deis iontach againn anois borradh a chur faoin nGaeilge mar theanga pobail agus todhchaí na teanga a chinntiú don chéad ghlúin eile. Tá rannpháirtíocht agus tacaíocht an phobail riachtanach le go n-éireoidh linn aidhmeanna an phlean a bhaint amach. Bí páirteach!
An Ghaeilge belongs to the community and the language plan belongs to the community. We now have a great opportunity to protect and grow an Ghaeilge as a community language and to ensure its future for the next generation. Community support and participation is essential to achieve the aims of the language plan. Bí páirteach!
